Thursday 08th December 2022- the Minister in Charge of Emergency Management, Marie Solange  Kayisire and World Bank Country Manager, Rolande Pryce visited activities being implemented under Jya Mbere, a WB funded Project.

The high officials were accompanied by the Executive Secretary of Southern Province, Parfait Busabizwa, Nyamagabe District Mayor Hildebrand Niyomwungeri, a delegation from UNHCR Rwanda other officials and partners.

They held a meeting at Nyamagabe District office and discussed achievements of Jya Mbere Project currently being implemented in Nyamagabe District.

Under Jya Mbere Project, 73 classrooms and 146 toilets have been constructed and equipped. The project also comprises two more projects in the offing which are rehabilitation and extension of Ngabwe-Ryarubondo water supply system and construction of Ryarubondo Cattle Market.

After the meeting, officials toured and inaugurated classrooms that were constructed in ES Mudasomwa, GS Gasaka and Don Bosco Nyamagabe TSS. The project intends to reduce overcrowding in classes for refugees and host communities.
