Nyamagabe District, German District discuss livestock partnership
The team from Birkenfeld District, Rhineland-Palatinate was led by Birkenfeld Mayor Dr. Alscher Bernhard.
As was on the agenda of their visit, they held different sessions with District officials, Sector Executive Secretaries, animal resources officers as well as District partners in livestock promotion.
They discussed cattle sector development, animal production (artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis), practical artificial insemination, animal nutrition production, animal nutrition conservation technics, market system development especially milk production.
The delegation also visited different activities including a cattle insemination site in Cyanika and a women-coffee cooperative in Gitega Cell of Cyanika Sector.
Accompanied by District officials, the visitor-delegates also toured Tare Sector based milk collection center and RAB’s animal forage multiplication station in Tare Sector. As part of their visit, they also visited Ecole des Sciences Nyamagabe and held exchanges with school management and students.
Prior to winding up their visit, the delegation visited Nyungwe National Park and enjoyed a canopy walkway as well as biodiversity in the forest.
