On February 9, 2026, Nyamagabe District took another significant step toward improving living conditions for its residents as the Mayor, Mr. Hildebrand NIYOMWUNGERI, welcomed partners from TUBEHEZA / EARTHENABLE. The delegation was led by the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Gayatri Datar, whose team collaborates closely with the District to provide affordable and sustainable construction solutions.

The visit focused on assessing more than 150 plots located in Nyabivumu Cell, Gasaka Sector. These plots have been designated for the development of affordable housing, a project aimed at addressing the housing challenges faced by vulnerable families within the District.

During the site visit, discussions centered on planning, infrastructure readiness, and implementation strategies to ensure that the housing project meets both quality standards and community needs. The initiative reflects a shared vision between the District and its partners to promote dignified living conditions through innovative and cost-effective construction methods.

The planned houses will be allocated to residents who currently lack adequate housing. To ensure accessibility, beneficiaries will pay for the homes through affordable monthly installments spread over a 15-year period, making homeownership achievable for low- and middle-income families.

This collaboration underscores Nyamagabe District’s commitment to building sustainable communities through strong partnerships and inclusive development programs. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly improve the quality of life for many families and contribute to the District’s broader urban development goals.
