Law NÂş 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy

Based on the provisions of Law No. 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 on the protection of personal data and privacy, and other international laws relating to personal data protection such as the DPP Law, this Personal Data Protection Policy explains how Nyamagabe will use your personal data when you visit the District’s website and the data you may be asked to provide.

Responsibility for use of personal data lies with Nyamagabe as the personal data controller.

WHY IS PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED AND PROCESSED?

Personal data we process is collected from various sources as follows:

  • Applicants for a digital certificate;
  • Requests for information or inquiries;
  • Feedback or comments you provide;
  • Signing contracts/agreements (MoU) or other legal documents related to data controllers as required by law;
  • During communications, including via our social media channels.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT, PROCESS, AND HOW?

In general, Nyamagabe District does not collect personal data when you visit the District website unless you choose to provide that information.

Providing your personal data via the District website is voluntary. By doing so you give us permission to use that data for the purposes described above.

PERSONAL DATA (INCLUDING IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION) COLLECTED THROUGH FORMS ON THE WEBSITE:

  • Email address
  • Telephone numbers
  • Location (Country, District, Sector, …)
  • Information related to the purpose requiring personal data processing (details, reasons, intended recipients, storage location, protection measures, potential impacts, rights regarding processing)

STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEM

Personal data is stored in the District of Nyamagabe’s information systems to enable retrieval of an individual’s identifying information (names, email address, telephone numbers, location) so we can contact you if necessary.

Additionally, Nyamagabe District uses analytical systems such as Google Analytics to help visitors find the information they need on the DISTRICT website. The following analytics and data-inspection systems are used to help us improve and correct errors:

  • Number of site users: number of visits, pages visited and time on site.
  • First-time and returning visitors: whether a visitor is new or has visited more than once.
  • Visit duration metrics: time spent on the site, pages viewed, and other navigation behavior.
  • Visitor location and language: country where visits originate and the language used by the visitor.
  • Browser and device information: browser used, operating system, screen resolution, and device color settings.

HOW WE PROTECT AND SECURE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

All collected personal data is processed in Nyamagabe District’s internal systems by authorized personnel and stored on the District’s servers. Applicable data security laws are followed and the provisions of the law cited above are observed.
